1. Overview

AI Translator ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our Chrome extension handles your data. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

2. What We Collect

2.1 Text You Select for Translation

When you double-click text on a webpage, AI Translator temporarily processes:

• The selected text (sent to OpenAI API for translation only)
• Your preferred target language (stored locally in browser)

This text is transmitted to OpenAI for processing only and is never stored on our servers.

2.2 Payment Verification Data (Pro License Purchase)

• Email address — used to identify your purchase and deliver your license key
• Payment screenshot — an image you upload as proof of payment; sent to the seller via email for manual verification

This data is used solely for verifying your payment and issuing a license key. It is not used for marketing, profiling, or any other purpose.

By clicking "Send Screenshot" in the payment form, you explicitly consent to this data being transmitted to the seller via the Resend email service for license verification purposes only.

2.3 Local Preferences

• Your selected target language (stored in browser local storage)
• UI preferences (stored in browser local storage)
• License key activation status (stored in browser local storage)

2.4 What We Do NOT Collect

• Browsing history
• Passwords or personal credentials
• Cookies or tracking identifiers
• Location data
• IP addresses
• Any page content beyond the text you explicitly select for translation

3. How We Use Your Data

1. Translation — Selected text is sent to the OpenAI API solely to return a translation result.
2. License Verification — Your email and payment screenshot are used exclusively to verify your Pro purchase and issue a license key. You provide this voluntarily with explicit consent via the payment form.
3. Preferences — Language settings are saved locally so you don't need to reconfigure each session.

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or analytics.

4. Data Storage & Retention

• Translation text: Never stored — discarded immediately after OpenAI returns the result.
• Payment screenshot: Delivered via email to the seller; not retained in any server database.
• Email address: Retained only in the seller's email inbox for license verification correspondence.
• Local preferences: Stored in your browser's extension storage only.
• User control: Uninstalling the extension removes all locally stored data.

5. Third-Party Services

AI Translator uses the following third-party services:

• OpenAI API — for translation processing

  • Only receives the text you select for translation
  • Does not use API inputs to train models by default
• Resend — email delivery for Pro license payment verification
  • Privacy Policy: https://resend.com/privacy
  • Only used when you voluntarily submit the Pro license purchase form
  • Receives your email address and payment screenshot solely for delivery to the seller

No other third-party services receive your data.

6. Data Security

• All API communications use HTTPS/TLS encryption.
• API keys are stored as server-side environment variables, never in extension code.
• No user database is maintained.

7. Your Rights

You may at any time:

• Delete local data — uninstall the extension or clear extension storage via chrome://extensions.
• Opt out — stop using or uninstall the extension.
• Contact us — request information about data handling.

8. Children's Privacy

AI Translator is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from users under 13.

9. Changes to This Policy

We will update the "Last Updated" date when this policy changes. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
